1st Annual Summer Program on International Perspectives on Sustainable Development and Governance of the Gulf of Mexico
Studies (HRI) at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and the Universidad Veracruzana (UV) in Veracruz, México invite graduate students to participate in the inaugural edition of this two- week interdisciplinary summer school program. Scholarships will be awarded to Masters and PhD students in any field of study who are interested in marine resource management, public policy, international relations or environmental governance topics. Objective: To provide students with an integrated understanding of national and international resource management and conservation policies in the Gulf of Mexico region through an educational and cultural experience. Six participants from each country will contribute their perspectives on the social, economic, political and environmental realities and learn to cooperate in developing better management strategies for the sustainable development of the Gulf of Mexico. Focus: The analysis of relevant environmental concerns, the contentious political constraints, economic and social issues, sustainable development and conservation of the natural resources of the Gulf.
