54th Annual GCAGS Convention

Source: http://www.stgs.org/gcags.htm (31 Mar. 2004)
The theme for the 54th annual GCAGS convention, "Geologists on a Mission", has a double meaning. It references both professional goals and the venue for the convention. San Antonio is well known for its five historic missions (including the Alamo), its Riverwalk and its fiesta atmosphere. What better inspiration for geologists desiring to achieve their own professional "missions" from the talks, the exhibits and the networking of THE regional Gulf Coast convention! The convention begins on Sunday and ends on Tuesday, so bring your spouse and family to enjoy San Antonio the weekend before!

* Mission to the Deep Gulf
* Mission to South Texas and the Northwestern Gulf – Reservoirs, Fields and Trends
* Mission to the Balcones -- Resources and Environment
* Mission to Produce Unconventional Gas and Oil Reservoirs – Technology Frontiers
* Mission to Explore and Evaluate – Techniques for the Practicing Geoscientist
