57th Annual Meeting of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute

The meeting will be held at the St. Petersburg Hilton and the Florida Marine Research Institute. There will be sessions focusing on the following themes:

* Biology, Ecology, and Assessment of Reef and Pelagic Fishes
* Biology, Ecology, and Assessment of Invertebrate Marine Fisheries
* Fish Spawning Aggregations (special session)
* Management and Socio-Economics of Marine Fisheries
* Marine Protected Areas Science and Management
* Essential Fish Habitats
* Recreational Fisheries
* Marine Science Education
* GIS, Satellites and Marine Science (special session)
* Aquaculture

Additionally, there will be a special session entitled: Ecological criteria for judging marine reserve performance: When is a coral reef ecosystem a “normative ecosystem?”

There will also be a poster session at the St. Petersburg Hilton on Tuesday evening 9 November.
