The winter meeting of ASLO (Advancing the Science of Limnology and Oceanography) in Puerto Rico (13-18 Feb. 2011) has a general session devoted to research on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Abstracts are encouraged on any aspect of the spill; social and natural sciences are all welcome. Registration is now open through the meeting website . Please submit to "GS10: Environmental Impacts of the BP Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill". Abstract deadline is 11 October 2010. Questions about the session should be directed to Tracy Villareal, Univ. of Texas, Austin at t.villareal@mail.utexas.edu
