There are now some 2,000 blue groups working on ocean and coastal conservation but still largely operating in isolation, and with little coordinated effort. BFC focuses on networking and promoting the common works needed among these groups. Vital to achieving our goals is the coordination and expansion of our Seaweed base. The Blue Vision Summits are now established forums that have helped increase outreach to marine conservation groups, coastal communities, recreational ocean users, maritime workers, coastal tribes, public health advocates, marine science centers, elected officials and other potential constituents and allies."
