IV International Workshop on Environmental Contamination and Protection (IV Taller Internacional Conyma - Contaminación y Medio Ambiente)

The workshop provides a space for specialists of different disciplines to meet and contribute their knowledge of natural and anthropogenic processes that affect the aquatic environment, and thus protect the ecosystems and natural resources, in order to guarantee their sustainable use.

The event has been traditionally held in Cuba since 1999. This year the goal is to achieve a greater exchange with regional specialists concerning the problems that affect the environment and its natural resources. Emphasis is dedicated to wetlands and harmful algae, although other thematic areas are accepted: Biodiversity, Mangroves, Tourism, Toxicology, Environmental education, Pharmacology, Databases, Community and gender, Coastal management, Trophic balance and fluxes, and Modeling.
